October 24. - November 04.

Event recommendations for the weekend, not intended to be a complete list.
If anyone knows of a relevant concert that was missed, let us know!

REMINDER:

Only events that have a Facebook event created and are visible on the band's page are included in the event recommendations (with a few exceptions)!
Furthermore, I would like to draw every band's attention to the importance of creating events for their concerts that can be found on their pages. Simply sharing a post is not enough.

The outdoor festival season is coming to an end, but the weekend still offers a number of particularly interesting events. This time the focus shifts towards club concerts, especially in Budapest. And let's not forget: this is Halloween weekend. You can hardly go wrong showing up to a concert in costume.

One of the strongest events of the weekend promises to be Saturday night's show at the Lechner Event Center (better known to many as the former Hop Top Brewery), where CandyMen Duo, Blackwater and the Tom White Rockabilly Show will share the stage. Another noteworthy concert will take place at Analog Music Hall on Friday, featuring Menthol Rock'n'Roll. This is a band that audiences have not had many chances to see recently.

Blues B.R.Others Show will appear at two different venues this weekend. They will perform at The FLOW in Szeged on Thursday, followed by a return appearance at Muzikum in Budapest on Friday. Muzikum has regularly hosted concerts from the scene over the past months, making yet another appearance in the concert roundup.

The eternally neglected Borsod region is doing surprisingly well this time. CandyMen Duo will visit Sajószöged, while the local Rock'n Roll Forever Band takes the stage in Miskolc. It is not an exaggeration to say that the county receives far more attention than usual this weekend. As is tradition, Rock'n Roll Forever Band once again failed to create a Facebook event for their concert.

It is also worth keeping an eye on Jumping Matt and his Combo in Hódmezővásárhely, the Matchboys in Debrecen, and Ati EDGE and the Shadowbirds in Szolnok. In the capital, Marót Viki and the Nova Kultúr Zenekar, Party Dance Band, and Dynamite Dudes will all be performing, while the Rebel Riders' show at Szajna Pub is also worthy of mention.

The busiest act of the weekend will be CandyMen Duo, who have no fewer than three performances lined up. Following the family event in Kecskemét, they will appear in Sajószöged and then in Budapest on Saturday.

This weekend's only international appearance comes from Sonny and his Wild Cows, who will perform at Route 66 in Zagreb, a venue that has long been regarded as one of the best-known rockabilly locations in the region.

There are no films on television that would appeal to us this weekend.

Public Service Moments #565

Rock and Roll is a popular music genre that emerged in the United States during the 1950s. It combines elements of rhythm and blues, country, gospel, and jazz into an energetic and danceable style. The music is characterized by strong rhythms, electric guitars, and catchy melodies. Early pioneers such as Chuck Berry, Little Richard, and Elvis Presley helped bring Rock and Roll to a worldwide audience. Its influence shaped many modern music genres and continues to inspire musicians today.

"Before Elvis there was nothing.” - John Lennon (Beatles)

Rockabilly is one of the earliest forms of Rock and Roll, developing in the United States in the early 1950s. It blends country music, particularly hillbilly music, with rhythm and blues influences. The style is known for its upbeat tempo, twangy guitars, and distinctive slap-back echo on vocals. Artists like Elvis Presley, Carl Perkins, and Jerry Lee Lewis were major figures in the Rockabilly movement. Today, Rockabilly remains popular among fans who appreciate its vintage sound and unique fashion culture.

Blues is a music genre that originated within African American communities in the southern United States during the late 19th century. It is known for its emotional expression, often reflecting themes of hardship, love, and resilience. Blues music typically follows a twelve-bar chord progression and features expressive vocals and instrumental solos. Influential musicians such as B.B. King, Muddy Waters, and Robert Johnson helped define the genre. The Blues became the foundation for many later music styles, including Rock and Roll, jazz, and soul.

Country is a genre of music that originated in the rural regions of the southern United States during the early 20th century. It combines folk traditions, storytelling lyrics, and simple yet memorable melodies. Common instruments include acoustic guitar, fiddle, banjo, and steel guitar. Country songs often focus on everyday life, family, love, and personal experiences. Artists such as Johnny Cash, Dolly Parton, and Willie Nelson helped make Country music one of the most popular genres in the world.

Beat music is a genre that developed in the United Kingdom during the late 1950s and early 1960s. It combines elements of Rock and Roll, rhythm and blues, and skiffle music. The style is characterized by strong backbeat rhythms, vocal harmonies, and guitar-driven arrangements. Bands such as The Beatles, The Searchers, and Gerry and the Pacemakers became leading representatives of the Beat movement. Beat music played a major role in the British Invasion and significantly influenced the development of modern pop and rock music.
