September 3-9.

Event recommendations for the weekend, not intended to be a complete list.
If anyone knows of a relevant concert that was missed, let us know!

REMINDER:

Only events that have a Facebook event created and are visible on the band's page are included in the event recommendations (with a few exceptions)!
Furthermore, I would like to draw every band's attention to the importance of creating events for their concerts that can be found on their pages. Simply sharing a post is not enough.

The first weekend of September may not be among the busiest periods of the year, but there are still some interesting events for fans of rock and roll, rockabilly, and country music. The Budapest lineup is more modest this time, while several well-known performers will be taking the stage in the countryside and neighboring countries.

The perpetually neglected Borsod region will be visited by Takáts Tamás Blues Band, who will be performing in Bodrogkeresztúr.

It has been quite a while since we last saw Fit Fat featured in the event recommendations, while Filtol will be taking the stage this time together with Kaszti Dóri. The country music scene will be represented by Redneck Roadkill, who will be performing at some sort of lumberjack competition.

One of the more interesting aspects of the weekend is that the Czech Hillbillies Party will host two Hungarian performers. On Friday, Duckers will represent the local scene, followed by The Silver Shine on Saturday. CandyMen Duo will be traveling to Slovakia, and once again they are among the busiest bands of the week.

Pedrofon have taken on three concerts, including a Saturday performance at an event organized by Amigo Rock'n'Roll & Rockabilly Club, where they will appear alongside Fifty Five Silver. Dynamite Dudes will also be seen on three occasions, while CandyMen Duo will likewise wrap up the week with three performances.

On television, Back to the Future will be broadcast on RTL Three.

Public Service Moments #557

Rock and Roll is a popular music genre that emerged in the United States during the 1950s. It combines elements of rhythm and blues, country, gospel, and jazz into an energetic and danceable style. The music is characterized by strong rhythms, electric guitars, and catchy melodies. Early pioneers such as Chuck Berry, Little Richard, and Elvis Presley helped bring Rock and Roll to a worldwide audience. Its influence shaped many modern music genres and continues to inspire musicians today.

"Before Elvis there was nothing.” - John Lennon (Beatles)

Rockabilly is one of the earliest forms of Rock and Roll, developing in the United States in the early 1950s. It blends country music, particularly hillbilly music, with rhythm and blues influences. The style is known for its upbeat tempo, twangy guitars, and distinctive slap-back echo on vocals. Artists like Elvis Presley, Carl Perkins, and Jerry Lee Lewis were major figures in the Rockabilly movement. Today, Rockabilly remains popular among fans who appreciate its vintage sound and unique fashion culture.

Blues is a music genre that originated within African American communities in the southern United States during the late 19th century. It is known for its emotional expression, often reflecting themes of hardship, love, and resilience. Blues music typically follows a twelve-bar chord progression and features expressive vocals and instrumental solos. Influential musicians such as B.B. King, Muddy Waters, and Robert Johnson helped define the genre. The Blues became the foundation for many later music styles, including Rock and Roll, jazz, and soul.

Country is a genre of music that originated in the rural regions of the southern United States during the early 20th century. It combines folk traditions, storytelling lyrics, and simple yet memorable melodies. Common instruments include acoustic guitar, fiddle, banjo, and steel guitar. Country songs often focus on everyday life, family, love, and personal experiences. Artists such as Johnny Cash, Dolly Parton, and Willie Nelson helped make Country music one of the most popular genres in the world.

Beat music is a genre that developed in the United Kingdom during the late 1950s and early 1960s. It combines elements of Rock and Roll, rhythm and blues, and skiffle music. The style is characterized by strong backbeat rhythms, vocal harmonies, and guitar-driven arrangements. Bands such as The Beatles, The Searchers, and Gerry and the Pacemakers became leading representatives of the Beat movement. Beat music played a major role in the British Invasion and significantly influenced the development of modern pop and rock music.
