Újabb legenda távozott. Trini Lopez halálát Koronavírus okozta

A koronavírus által okozott szövődményben életét vesztette egy legenda, a mexikói származású Trini Lopez. Trinidad "Trini" López III néven született Dallasban, 1937 Május 15.-én.
Nehéz gyerekkora volt, öt testvérrel nőt fel, a gimnázium utolsó évét kihagyta, hogy pénzt keressen családjának.
15 évesen alakította első bandáját, de az áttörésre 1963-ig várnia kellett, amikor megjelent első albuma a "Trini Lopez at PJ's", és rajta a legismertebb száma, az "If I Had a Hammer".

Ezt több magyar zenekar is műsorára tűzte, mint például a Madarak Házibulizenekar:



A Pedrofon Ifa megy a hegyen címmel magyar szöveget írt alá, és azóta is a legsikeresebb daluk:


1964-től dolgozott együtt a Gibson gitűrgyártó céggel, akik egy róla elnevezett gitárt is piacra dobtak Trini Lopez Standard névvel.

13 dala került fel a sikerlistákra, köztük a Lemon Tree 1965-ben, az I'm Comin' Home, Cindy 1966-ban és a Sally Was a Good Old Girl 1968-ban.



Lopz 2008-ban, a 71. születésnapján kapott csillagot a Las Vegas Walk of Stars-on.

Kevesen tudják, de Lopez filmekben is szerepelt, legismertebb ezek közül az 1967-es Piszkos tizenkettő, ahol Pedro Jimenez szerepét kapta meg. Olyan hírességekkel dolgozhatott együtt, mint Lee Marvin, Ernest Borgnine, Charles Bronson, Telly Savalas és Donald Sutherland.

Lopez megrögzött agglegény volt, soha nem alapított családot.
